April 12, 2009 By Barbara Falconer Newhall Leave a Comment

href=”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence_Cathedral”>Duomo in Florence, Italy, portrays the Last Judgement, with Christ, Mary and saints, and choirs of angels toward the top, and capital sins and Hell toward the bottom. The fresco covers 38,750 square feet of surface. Work began in 1568 by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari. Vasari died in 1574, but Zuccari and others continued the work until 1579.
