Help ‘Wrestling with God’ Find Its Readers
Today I’m asking you to do a huge favor for me and for my book, “Wrestling with God: Stories of Doubt and Faith” — help my book find its readers by buying it, giving it as a gift and talking it up.
As I mentioned the other day, I’m re-releasing the book under my own imprint, Blackberry Canyon Press, and my goal right now is to put this — dear-to-my-heart — book into the hands of new readers. Lots of them.
I believe in this book. I believe it’s what our globalized, strife-ridden world needs right now. It’s a book that is open to — and finds the commonalities in — the spiritual lives of people of widely different traditions: Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Native American, atheist and more.
Our Globalized, Secularized, Cynical World
I also feel that “Wrestling with God” can lend support to folks who, like me, are wondering whether it is possible to believe in God — or something — given today’s often cynical zeitgeist.
And so, because I feel this book has so much to offer, I’m asking you to look for ways to get it into the hands of all those readers out there who would treasure this book — if only they knew it existed.
If you already own a copy — and I trust it’s a well-worn copy — consider giving “Wrestling with God” as a gift. (Maybe you have a friend or two who wouldn’t mind spending some time wrestling with God.)
It’s a life-affirming book — a fitting gift for the upcoming holidays.
Buy It Wherever Books Are Sold
You can buy the paperback (and soon the e-book) wherever books are sold. Be sure to order the “Wrestling with God” that’s published by Blackberry Canyon Press.
You’ve got choices:
- There are the biggies. Good old Amazon. And Barnes & Noble. “Wrestling with God” benefits greatly if you buy your book from one of these sites. Their algorithms notice when someone buys a book or writes a review, which gets WWG displayed to more and more readers.
- My favorite way to buy a book, however, is through my neighborhood brick-and-mortar bookstore. You could go into your local store, talk to the real people there, order the book — and sing the praises of “Wrestling with God” while you’re at it.
- If you’d rather shop locally from home, many bookstores, including my favorites, Book Passage and A Great Good Place for Books, have websites that make it easy to order a book on line — for delivery or for pick-up.
- If you don’t have a favorite independent bookstore, check out Bookshop.org. There, you can choose an independent store to receive the profit from your online, delivered purchase.
Help ‘Wrestling with God’ Find Its Readers — Write a Review on Amazon
- Go to the product detail page for the item. If you’ve placed an order for the item, you can also go to Your Orders.
- Select Write a Product Review in the Customer Reviews section.
- Select a Star Rating. A green check mark shows the rating is successful.
- Add the text of your review and select Submit.
(Only customers who have spent at least $50 on Amazon in the last twelve months can rate or review a book.)
Keep in mind: You might see used copies of “Wrestling with God” for sale on Amazon at super low prices. Those are left over from the book’s original release. It’s the same book. No problem. But choosing the new Blackberry Canyon release will help it find its way to the top of the charts.
Four More Ways to Help ‘Wrestling with God’ Find Its Readers:
- Donate a copy to your church, temple, ashram or mosque library.
- Ask your local library to stock the book.
- Place a copy into your neighborhood Little Free Library.
- Suggest the book to your book group.
I thank you. And I’m hoping you will be thanked by anyone who gets a copy of “Wrestling with God” because of you.
