Here are some more pictures from my days in the Sierra Nevada last September. We spent time at the Inyo National Forest and Tuolemne Meadows in Yosemite National Park. (My friends pronounce it too-OLL-eh-mee.)

That’s porphyritic granite piled up everywhere.

I’ve got lots of Sierra Nevada pix on this site. Enjoy!

Lupine — a wildflower that blooms in spring at lower elevations in California — was blooming in September near Tuolemne Meadows. Spring came late in 2011– in July — when the last of the snow melted. Photo by BF Newhall.

Which Way America? Compassion With Francis? Or Vitriol With Trump?

Cover of Pope Francis' book, "Open Mind, Faithful Heart." With a picture of the pope.

Pope Francis and Donald Trump couldn’t be more different — in the way they respect (Francis) and disrespect (Donald) their fellow human beings. Read more.
