    Hello Barbara,
I currently research the Lake Michigan flora, specifically for Carex from Lake County, Illinois, north to Door County. My husband Jim, also a retired teacher, accompanies me and takes the gps info on his camera that I include in my reports. The reports are a condition of my research allowing me to collect culms, no full plants, to scan or image, then send them to herbaria. My photos are on the Robert Freckmann Herbarium website. I work with macro-lens and microscope, Jim with landscape.
We enjoy the coastal flora, as I see you do too. Regards, Linda Curtis

Here’s a link to the herbarium Linda cites: http://wisplants.uwsp.edu/index.html

Linda — can you give us links to sites that might help Lake Michigan lovers identify the flora growing along the lake?
